| Home § Services § Gallery § FAQ § Inquiry Form § Blog § Calendar About Us Savannah's Smiles Face Painting began in June of 2009 when Dawn was asked to face paint at a benefit for Rayne, who had childhood cancer. She had never face painted before and did in-depth research about the proper paints to use, etc. The face painting was such a hit at the benefit, as well as so many requests for business cards, that Dawn decided to start a business. After painting at many parties and attending her first face painting convention in New Orleans (LaFete), the word had gotten out and the business began to grow. Savannah, Dawn's daughter and the business's namesake, decided to learn glitter art and help out. Rudi, Dawn's best friend began training for face painting. Rudi was ready to go by April of 2010, and did her first event at a street fair in Picayune. Dawn and Rudi have painted at such venues as Tipatina's (New Orleans), Tulane University (New Orleans), Ben & Jerry's (Biloxi), Hard Rock Casino (Biloxi), Coast Coliseum (Biloxi), Navy Seabees (Gulfport), Haunted Trails (Picayune), BlueJack Ridge Corn Maze (Poplarville), Picayune Street Fair and Blueberry Jubilee (Poplarville). In Oct. 2011, Dawn's husband took a new job in Arkansas so the two long-time friends had to split up the business. Team One is made up of Dawn and Savannah in Arkansas. Savannah is now 15 and is beginning her training as a face painter, as well as continuing glitter body art. They can be seen at most of the local festivals in Northwest Arkansas, as well as many corporate and private events. Team Two is made up of Rudi and Madison in Mississippi and can be seen at Picayune's Street Fair in Oct. and April, as well as the BlueJack Ridge Corn Maze (Poplarville) in October and Christmas in Dixie (Picayune) in December.
